my father is planing to take us to a trip for one night to SUR as he is still working he want to take us on thursday come back friday...

i think its c0ol , confidentally: i know nothing about SUR only that famouse boats are built there?

what are SUR famouse site seeing or place to stay and spend the night?

how big is sure and friendsly are their ppl?

is their language difference cos many interior wilayat(regions towns or villages) speak differently although its arabic, but who am i kidding iam not even clear with the straight arabic :P

is it worth a try to go there and risk dad's effort (driving) and our n-joyment?

cuz they made the road so far from the ground..

if the car accidently went right.. u'll fall down about.. i dunno how many feet.. but its far.. alot of accidents happened over there.. alot of them past away.. <img src="http://www.omanforum.com/threads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

but if u wanna go.. the road isn't a reason to make u not go <img src="http://www.omanforum.com/threads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />.. be nice to ur dad <img src="http://www.omanforum.com/threads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />..

What I have done a few times is to take the coastal road to Sur. It is the road that runs through Quriat, Tiwi etc. They were still working on the road the last time I used it, but for the most part it is tarred.

It takes quite a while to drive, and the fastest way back to Muscat is the road through Ibra. Just be warned that after Ibra the road snakes through a wadi where people drive waaaaayyyy too fast for the road conditions and has a tendency to cut the corners. Also, some people - especially the ones in big Land Cruisers - tend to overtake in places where they can't see oncomming traffic.

Best is NOT to drive this road back to Muscat (even worse from Muscat) on a Friday after dark.
