Omani students who study in jordan were asked to leave the country coz of the war. They are all back to Oman. This is really bad especially for those who were going through their final semester. Alot are so pissed and thinking of going to the UAE for their studies but they would sure suffer and might need to take more courses which would delay their graduation!!

What have those students face there that made the Omani Embassy send them back home?

As far as I know they were sent back to home for some security reasons, and they wont loose any hours or credits when they go back again to their unies. coz everything is arranged between the cultural attaché and the Jordanian Ministry of higher Education, and dont forget that the same situation happened during the gulf war but after that everything went back to normal and smoothly.

How about the Omani studying in the states and the UK?? Or any Arab students for that matter...have they been advised to return to their home country for security reasons???

Here in the UK we haven't been advised to return.. Everything is just as normal.. And I believe the same is in the States.

Guys.. like Protocol man said they are all back for security reasons... they are not happy thats true... but we cannot take risk with our people....

People who are sent through scholarships by the uni will not be able to change their countries or unis until further notice from the cultural attache...for the time bein they are requested to stay back and wait for a nother week or 2 to see wht will happen eventually.

For the people in the states and UK its fine, but some have to deal with the racial slurs and that is not good.

Security Reasons? I have lived there less than 2 years ago and I know nothing has changed. Its a crazy and beautiful place but it is definitely safe to live there!
