Dear Friends,
I am writing to let you know about an event due to take place at the
British Ambassador's Residence on Tuesday 2nd May at 10.30am. The Oman British Friendship Fund is going to hold a sale of beautiful handbags, belts and scarves etc. to raise money for the children at the orphanage here in Oman.
Every year the fund tries to send 20 children to attend the English summer courses at CFBT. This not only provides the children with something to do over the long hot summer, but also gives them a valuable tool (English) to improve their job prospects later on. CFBT organise lots of fun activities for the children and they really have a great time. If possible we would also like to enrol them in other fun activities (eg ice skating classes too)
The fund is also trying to organise training and work for those due to leave the orphanage soon.
In order to raise money for this programme we are collecting handbags,
belts, scarves etc that are no longer needed so that we can sell them to raise funds. So ladies, have a look in your closet and see if you have an item or two that you don't want and either give me a ring so that I can come and collect them or bring them along to Starbucks in Shatti between 10 and 12 noon this Wednesday or any other Wednesday before the event.
This is a chance to clear out your closet and purchase something new.
I hope you will all come along to the sale on Tuesday 2nd May.
