I wish Omantel would stop wasting everyone's time with the blocking system, and concentrate their efforts on providing connection speeds comparable with the rest of the world, TODAY, rather than what the rest of the world was using 5-10 years ago.

And after Neo pointing out that the ROP logo was uploaded to oman-hp server, what do you think Oman-Hp is upto? Anyways, it should be thier business, and I hope they can explain something for us.

u know, I just reazlied this, I dont think ROP has anything to do with this, I think the site owner got tired updating this site and decide to make it cool and that his site is very important to a point ROP took it.

Its very easy to redirct the site so that only those who outside the UAE and Oman can access. for one, why one earth would ROP want to put a link of registering oman-hp email?!!!. U will see the login buttons just below the ROP message.

Another reason why my theory is correct, the image of ROP, its inside the Oman-hp server. So if Omantel blocked his site, why on earth the image is in thier server. Check this out

The owner wanted to show that he is a hotshot even the ROP took it, and maybe he uses this stunt to make his site even famous. I bet, several days later, once he updates it (BTW I check his site files, the last time he updated it was on 14 march), so once he updates it, he will come with something like, finally we manage to get our site back etc etc. Or he just got tired of updating it, and instead of telling the users that he it shutting down, WHY NOT JUST bLAME THE ROP huh!

Neo, I dont think you get it. ROP could not have possibly hacked into the web site because:

1) I can see the site perfectly. If it was hacked, I wouldnt have been able to see it.

2) I don't think even the ROP thinks it has the right to hack web sites.

All the ROP can do is BLOCK the web site for users in Oman and redirect them to an ROP page. It can ALSO arrest the webmasters. It can't touch the site.

I went to the site and there is NOTHING about the ROP there.

Chitchi, you did NOT get it man? Neo said that the site was blocked ONLY for Omani and UAE users, and you are in CANADA, so ofcourse you will be able to use it.

Anyways, I am sure ROP didn't hack the site up, after Neo showed us that the ROP sign was uploaded to Oman-Hp.

all I am saying the Oman-hp administrator are taking us to a ride. We Omanis and UAE users cant see the site by going to oman-hp.com, instead it shows an ROP message. But I just realized that ROP has nothing to do with this. For one, by goin to the link I gave above, you can access the normal oman-hp page and also the image of ROP is in thier server. So bascially Oman-hp guys are taking us into a ride and decive us all who reside in Oman and UAE that they were stopped by ROP.

I really doubt Oman hp is behind this. Its probably a simple redirection by ROP.

Why not ask Mindazi. Its his site, right?

If ROP redirected it, than it will be like any other sex site, no where in hell one can access it, the domain and DNS itself is being redirected. But in the case of Oman-Hp they redirected the main page, and being the ROP image in thier server proves my point even more. Why on earth would they have ROP image in thier server.

Its one of Mindazi games, as if we dont know Mindazi!

Neo - I think you're not quite right but certainly on to something. ROP could easily upload an image if they can edit the text content of the page... but it is interesting that the index.html page is still there... and as I said but I think you missed, the Omantel blocking message is different.

For some reason it is not loading ok on my computer...

It may be because I have now viewed the actual page my computer remembers where to find it.

For those of you that it still loaded for - I'm imagining it is your computer's cache or the ISP cache that allows it to load.

And in regards to the design similarities - I think it's like a Frontpage or Dreamweaver theme... it isn't actually frontpage because the Frontpage header info isn't in the source code, but the source code is too neatly structured to be done in Notepad without driving the webmaster to insanity. It says "MSHTML 5.0" in the generator field... could be Microsoft Word or Publisher or something... I don't like either of them... so I don't know for sure...

Enough rambling - I'm sure it's just a template...

Be interesting to see what it turns out to be...

I still think its possible that ROP redirects all OmanTel members who access just oman-hp.com to a specific site. It probably redirects you before you reach the Oman-hp server and that is why you can still access the rest of the site. ROP is probably trying a unique way of blocking this site to show what it can do. Besides, this *would* be a case with the ROP since it invloves racing and hence it is not blocked the conventional way that OmanTel blocks porn.

You might be right tho. Lets wait to see what Mindazi says.

Besides, anyone who plays like this with the ROP would be REALLY stupid. Can't he get into sh*t for this?

everybody can access Oman-hp, just let them click on that link above. Thats my point all the time. Oman-HP was never blocked to begin with. Its still there, just click on the link I provided above

Devil, again, you miught be right but I have seen redirection services that make it look like a file is on another server. I can't figure out how OmanTel could have done it though. I used similar redirection for my domains.
