Any idea when the new skating rink will open?

Where exactly is it going to be? Wonder why no mall in Oman has it.

It's supposed to open by the year's end but looking at the building that doesn't sound quite doubtful.

It's located inside the Qurum Natural Park at the extreme right corner from the main gate (right by the mountain). You can see the building under construction.

It is owned by the same people who operate the old ice skating rink in Al Khuwair. This one is going to be a full entertainment center with ice skating, bowling, arcade games, a soft toy section for young kids, and a small food court.

Theres only two. Al masa and khuwair bowling center.
The one in Al bahja closed ages ago.
Well it makes business sense since the other two are always packed and people are bowling so why not capitalize on the potential of the market?
How big is the ice rink going to be? The standard size like in dubai mall or the little tiny thing like the old one?

The one in Al Masa isn't packed in the afternoons on weekdays. I'm not sure the market can sustain a third bowling centre, unless it's only open evenings, weekends and holidays.

But this new one isn't just a bowling center. It can cover its overheads entirely from the skating. They don't need to compete with the other two in bowling. They have an advantage over the other two. Actually, the one in the worst position is the one in Al Khuwair since there's nothing there but bowling. Al Masa is a small shopping center and has income from rents from the shops in addition to the bowling.

Is this the shed like structure which you can see from the road as you drive past Qurum Park towards the Crowne Plaza ??

Yep. It's a steel structure building.
