Dear Citizen,

Here is your chance to take part in the political process of our Nation. You need to participate in the election process of Majlis Al Shura representatives. Participate proactively and make Your voices heard through the right candidates.

MAWALANA in his ever far seeing vision has decreed the expansion of voters eligibility to include most Omanis.

Therefore, Pls make use of this golden chance and register as voters or even as candidates for the forthcoming Majlis Al Shura elections. You can get the forms in the site mentioned within the news flash below.

Thank you

Voters urged to register

MUSCAT — The Ministry of Interior has called upon all citizens who are 21 years of age to fill in the voter registration form in preparation for taking part in Majlis Al Shura fifth term elections, commencing on October 2 this year.

A statement issued by the ministry yesterday said that in implementation of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s directives to expand the base of citizens’ participation in the next elections of the Majlis, the ministry invites eligible citizens who have reached 21 years of age to hand-deliver the completed registration forms or send them by mail or any other appropriate means to the elections affairs department in the ministry or offices of walis.

The statement said the form may be obtained from the website, www.moi.gov.om

The registration of voters starts in all wilayats from March 1 and the submission of candidacy will remain open for two weeks from March 29. It is expected that 822,000 voters from a population of 1,960,000 will cast their votes to select 83 members representing 59 wilayats for a three-year term. — ONA

Can you please post ther terms and conditions for becoming a candidate ? and

what are the regions that will have representatives in the Majlis ? and

how many candidates per region ?

Are there any plans to expand the scope of Majlis in Questioning:

1- Foreign Affairs

2- Internal Security

3- Defence

As you know that these are critical elements in our Country and in all democratic countries these affairs are transperent to the "Parlement".

There is a saying:

"If you argue with a full he will always win"

The first lesson my mother gave me in dealing with losers was:

Those who loose focus in their discussions they are either ignorant or idiots who do not want to accept reality. Let them. Days will prove them wrong

and this what I have to say to Mti:

May Allah forgive you for what you have said about the Palistinianse and May Allah lead you to the straight path.

If you have answers to my questions please contribute, otherwise any one is welcome.

MTi Darling.. This is a public forum and people of all nationalities are welcome to participate. You are not using a govt. owned media to broadcast your rubbish because you have no position or authority in Govt. So stop pretending to be that hifi spy. You are a fake imposter nothing else.

I 've done some research regarding sources of information and I found the following link from the daily news paper:

http://www.moi.gov.om

There is also an email: itlaw@omantel.net.om

Even though the web site is still empty it is a good start.

I think it is about 3000 USD /Month + a lump sum of 120,000 USD at the begining of their term.

P.S. payment is in Omani Riyals, the figures above are just translations.

If anybody knows the exact figures please correct me.

Shahada,

Please tell me where you got this info from. It's highly unlikely! but if it is, then that's great but you'll have to convince me!
