I have just been informed that there is a law in Saudi Arabia that only a saudi born citizen can legally own property? is this true and if so what other countries in the middle east have the same policy.
I have been told that muslim immigrants are treated like 2nd class citizens who work like slaves for their saudi masters who relax and extort payments for using his/her name to purchase property.
I hope it is not true, if it is true then this is another example of how Saudi arabia can't be even referred to as a muslim country. A country is not a muslim country unless it is rules by islamic laws. and this rascist policy which reduces muslim brothers to second class is antithesis to islamic law.
People can't point to Saudi arabia and refer to their corrupt policies as being representative of an islamic society.

Theman, I believe that this policy is quite prevalent throughout most of the countries in the Gulf, it might seem unfair, however these same countries are also massive employers of foreign workers.

Are you only concerned that muslim immigrants are treated as second class citizens ? Do you not have compassion for the thousands of non muslims who also labor and are treated like dirt in the kingdom ?
In that case you are as racist as the Saudi's you are so concerned about.

toys for tots your signature graphic is an eyesore, do you have a permit for that?
Naturally my concern would be for my fellow muslim brothers and sisters. I would be lying if i said differently. If you have a choice to save your blood brothers life as opposed to a stranger, who would you choose if the choice was mutually exclusive?
I am appalled by this information. This rascist policy by these GCC states are completely against an important fundamental aspect of islam.
a muslim is a brother to another muslim, this is what our beloved prophet(pbuh) preached... and here we are treating our fellow brothers like economic slaves because of their ethnic background. This is horrible.
This system of economic aparthied virtually garauntees the stability of current despotic regimes. If your fed well, and chilling without lifting a finger, why would any of the natural citizens want to change the status quo.
All i have to say is shame on you the citizens and shame on your leaders.

Speak_Freely, I am not defending Saudi Arabia.
I am one of their biggest critics.
The point I am making is that I believe that all 6 countries of the GCC, follow the policy, of foreigners not being able to buy property.
A country should not be branded as exploitative, unfair, e.t.c. on the basis of this policy alone.

Could be for security reasons?
I mean here is what some ppl may argue:
you permit foreigners to buy a land.
Jews with their money will start buying lands and then form a colony .next thing you know America and Britain signing an agreement to cut Saudia Arabia into halfs and give them Jews a state.
amazing!
I could pass for a Zionist thinker!
on a serious note. The way the policy makers look at it in the gulf is that they want to limit the number of Foreigners.
regarding " it should be a muslims countries how can you treat ur muslim brothers like that"
you only have to go to the authorities and say u want to change ur name to Ali Muhammed and Religion to Muslim. There i gave you a muslim in 2 minutes.

good points panoramic, however after further thought its not good enough justification for economic aparthied.
through reading various seerah of our beloved prophet(pbuh), they didn't have a lie detector test back then to determine the muslimness of an individual. Whomever claimed to be muslim would be treated as that. However stature did not come from a name, but it came from a combination of their respective actions and speech.
I went to a relative's house for Eid-al-adha, and they were talking of stories how the immigrant muslims from afghanistan live in slum like dwellings. When millions of muslims from afghanistan were fleeing from communist invasion, not only did the Saudi's establish a quota for the immigrants but they treated them and continue to treat them as 2nd class.
and for those immigrant who are well off and who ,through a saudi proxy, "own" businesses are at the complete mercy of their Saudi masters. One example is of an immigrant who "owns" multiple textile wholesale and retail shops has to at the whim of his saudi master fetch tea and groceries for him.
dispicable.
You are the descendants of the blessed Ansar(helpers), why do you allow this to continue.
The muslims of arabia have such a great legacy, it brings a tear to my eye to see what you have become.

all I wanted to say is the system as it is is open for abuse now.
let me make it clear to you that I condemn those who abuse anyone else because they think they are superior to him/her.

I am an Arab but Let me tell you this : the arab brain is still the same. he thinks his tribe is the best and he is the only one who is blessed. now we became nationalists. the new form of tribalism.
some of the Arab of today would still stand in the desert and voice a poem about his love, his house (tent) his car (camel).
anyways It will take me ages to discuss the arab mentality and brain which is admirable but most of the time emotinal rather than logical.
anyways I condemn the actions of a governement that treats any one who is serving it as second class.
I dont praise the one who rules me and tells me how to live my life I praise him who serves me.
problem is we muslims live a strangers we are the slaves of ourselves.
brotherhood which Islam once strengthned is being shattered.
we dont know who to trust and who to turn o. we lived so many years being opressed that we forgot what it feels to rule ourselves. instead we pick on weaker muslim brothers to satisfy that complex we suffer. Sad as it is .
we the muslims want to install Islam in a governement that forgot its identity.
governements serve ppl but now we serve governements.
look around you and youll see that we turned into consumers. we go to work not to make a difference but to get a salary at the end of the month. we go home To eat and reproduce.
Even when we pray we are thinking not about how to please Allah but we think whats on TV next.
I think I should stop now.
theman the picture is Fantastic.
