Yes, women should pray, men should pray, children should pray, even criminals should pray, in short everyone should pray.

    salam 3likom wr wb

    shaq,

ur wondering of what actually brother?do you pray and read quran?if you do then you would really aware and can see it is obvious and clearly stated in quran that it is waajeb on men and women to worship Allah.even in surah elnisa2 you can see in ayah 103:

...inna elsolah kaanat 3la elmu2minin kitaaban mauqutan

("....surely prayer is a timed ordinance for the believers")

elmu2minin here refers to both gender men and women.

besides Praying is one of the pillars in islam that compulsory to be performed by moslem men and women.
if women does not have to pray,it would be seen like they are not equal in status with men.and there has no such thing ever taught in islam even in any ayah of quran that women status is lower than men.so i hope this would be clear for you brother.

    salam 3likom wr wb..

shaq who said they are like a children?in wikipedia

A woman is a female human being (specifically an adult, a female child is a girl), as contrasted to a man, an adult male (as a child, boy). The terms woman (irregular plural: women) and girl are used to indicate biological sex distinctions, cultural gender role distinctions, or both.

so how can a woman be like a children.
in islam when a girl menstruate already hence it is waajeb for her to pray.and what about a woman?lol sure you know what the answer clearly.so no need to bugs ur mind with such stuff cos its nothing to be wondering about brother.

If any do deeds of righteousness, be they male or female, and have faith, they will enter Paradise and not the least injustice will be done to them.

    [Quran 4:124]

Women and men are equal in Islam but play different roles. There are a list of points in the following web page regarding the status of women in Islam, two of these points are:

    http://www.jannah.org/sisters/qur_wom.html

    1. Woman is recognized by Islam as a full and equal partner of man in

the procreation of humankind. He is the father; she is the mother, and

both are essential for life. Her role is not less vital than his. By

this partnership she has an equal share in every aspect; she is

entitled to equal rights; she undertakes equal responsibilities, and

in her there are as many qualities and as much humanity as there are

in her partner. To this equal partner- ship in the reproduction of

    human kind God says:

"O mankind! Verily We have created your from a single (pair) of

a male and a female,m and made you into nations and tribes

that you may know each other..." (Qur'an, 49:13; cf. 4:1).

    2. She is equal to man in bearing personal and common responsi-

bilities and in receiving rewards for her deeds. She is acknowledged

as an independent personality, in possession of human qualities and

worthy of spiritual aspirations. Her human nature is neither inferior

to nor deviant from that of man. Both are members of one another. God

    says:

" And their Lord has accepted (their prayers) and answered them

(saying): 'Never will I cause to be lost the work of any of

you, be he male or female; you are members, one of another..."

    (3:195; cf 9:71;33:35-36;66:19-21).

Islam looks at women and men as equal even though with different roles to play. For example, a mother has her responsibilities while a father has his different responsibilities within the family, for example a mother is not obliged to pay for her children's well being but a father is. Whereas spiritually, women and men are completely equal:

"The male believers and the female believers are each others allies, they enjoin good and forbid harm, they establish prayers, practise charity, and obey God and His Messenger. On them will God have mercy, for God is Exalted in power, Wise." Quran(9:71)

Why asking me Balqis_3asal, I m not Mula to know this things.....Anyway, I have seen men going to Mosque pretending they pray but in reallity they don't. They simply fool others and laugh within when they have returned home!!!. I don't think there is anybody in this world of today who really pray. They think they do but they are only fooling themselves.... No one has a clean heart to perform a pray now adays. People have nasty hearts. They hate each others, Jelous to each others and even asking GOD to destroy others.

So, it is a good question Balqis_3asal, Should me pray and Why since all they do is not right!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Am asking you cause you asked about women, so maybe you have an opinion, and infact you have 7amdillah, means you've got brains and make them work.

Read the Quran and you'll find many verses about these people but is not up to us to judge, God will.
Our duty is trying to see how this attitude leads to nowhere other than hell, and to do our best to perform our duties towards God as best as we can.

Should me pray and Why since all they do is not right!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

What is prayer for you Shaq, what's the meaning?
    Kindly don't skip this time.

You have a serious problem Shaq, perhaps you should see a medical doctor or a councilor. People in general are not so bad as you think.

That is the thing Shaq. You don't know what is in the hearts of people. What is in their hearts and minds when they pray is between them and God.

All the group of people I have been with have negative thinking of others!!. Not a single human I have met has a clean heart. Did you know that if you don't have clean heart you are simply wasting your time praying!!!!. Women are even worse coz they love gossiping!! Did you know that those who ghossip goes straight to hell!!!.

Everyone should pray, esp. with the condition the world is in right now.

    Pemba Boy,

    [deleted][/color]

As to the topic, It is always nice people to challenge the doubts they have within!. Pointing out as if women should pray or not is not a bad point coz there are so many reason that I see that I personally think women should not pray. No need to point them out coz they are well known...

Wouldn't you wonder why women are better pray at home and not in the mosque!. Wouldn't you wonder why women can not be Imam and lead men woman on the pray!!!!. There are a lot of wonders behind this as you can see!!!.

The task of praying assigned to women solely so that they can have the same thinking and acceptances as men but nothing really taken from them seriously.

Since this thread has already answered Shaq’s question ‘Should Women Pray?’; I am locking it as going any further will be of no benefit and nothing but more stupidity and insults to women.
