    Default B+F Roadside Diner

Burger Boutique is opening in Bareeq Al Shatti. It's a Kuwaiti owned restaurant that makes gourmet and premium burgers. I hear it's really well liked in Kuwait.

    B + F Roadside Diner.

It's from Kuwait, the same people who have Burger Boutique and Slider Station in Kuwait.

B+F Roadside Diner is now open at Bareeq Al Shatti. For the time it's just a soft opening and they open from 7pm to 11pm. They have a page on Facebook so check it out for pictures of their food. Looks very yummy.

Also been told there's a really good Thai restaurant in Qurm called Narjeela but I have no idea where in Qurm it is.

My wife and I had dinner at the B+F Roadside Diner yesterday and we enjoyed it immensely! The sliders where out of this world!

I just has B+F today night, and I can definetly say it's great to have such a good joint. Although i do hope it remains this good. It's a shame however, that they do not take credit cards.

For me it was even a worse experience. After all the big hype about this place, I decided to take me familia for lunch there yesterday (Friday). We got there at 1:30 pm and was surprised to see the waiters telling us that they only open from 3 pm !!!. Ok, we decided that it may worth the wait, so we waited for one and half hour and once it was open it was already jammed pack !!!. Luckily (or Un-Luckily) I reserved a table when I arrived the first time. So we got in, and once we were seated, I asked the waiter for a child seat for our 1 1/2 years toddler. "No sir, we don't have child seat here" !!!. Ok, what about children menue for our two other kids ? "No sir, there is no Children menue here too". All this happening while a big western expat family sitting adjecet to our table started smoking. I mean the whole family, the mother, father, and thie kids were all smoking inside this rat hole place !!!. I asked the waiter why you allow smoking inside such a small resturant which I am sure they dont even have proper ventilation?. We quitely stood up, returned the chairs to thier original position and walked away without saying anything to the waiters.

As for me, that was the first and definetly the last time I go that ugly place .

Not to pile on with complaints about the place, but the one time we tried to go, it was not only crowded (good for them), but unbearably loud - more like a nightclub than a neighborhood restaurant. We ended up at Cafe Abala, which is quiet and very, very good (a little expensive, but I've found generally worth it). As for smoking - that would put it right off my list even without all the other issues...

Go to their Facebook page and tell them what you feel about their smoking policy. I think I'm the only one who has complained about it. They should know that there are many others like me who don't won't go to a restaurant that allows smoking.

BTW, I went to B+F the other night and the burger was superb. It really is the best burger place in town. Those of you who complain about it, what did you have there?
The burgers are okay but the overall ambience (crowded, noisy ,smoky) coupled with long waiting(seats & food) not to miss the cactus plant behind the seating outside...ooouucchhh...sucks!

I hate to resurrect an old thread just to complain, but:

After having been turned off by the noise (and excessive smokiness and darkness) of B+F Diner at night, a friend and I thought we'd try it for lunch today. Turns out the place is no better at noon than night, at least when it comes to customer service.

We got there to find it more than 3/4s empty. We waited for a while at the door, and no one came to seat us. After a couple of minutes, we decided to seat ourselves, passing on the way toward the windows several servers, not one of whom greeted us. We sat down, and waited for about five minutes for menus. A nice enough waitress finally brought a couple over, and after we got over the prices (RO 2.8 for chips?) and we were able to get her attention again, we started to order.

About halfway through our order, a young man (possibly a manager? It was hard to tell, given that he was unshaven and in a sloppy T-shirt) came over, interrupted, and rather briskly let us know that, so sorry, our table was reserved, as were several other choice (empty) ones. We replied that well, in that case, we'd rather cancel our order and leave, and he shrugged and walked away.

We ended up having a very nice (and much cheaper!) lunch at Shrimpie's down at Bariq al-Shatti's food court. Walking back to the car, we again passed B+F - and saw that our former table and all the other supposedly "reserved" ones were still empty. I suppose we wouldn't have minded moving, if we hadn't already been ignored on arrival, been sitting there for more than ten minutes at that point, and had been asked with even an attempt at politeness.

My guest and I are older than the demographic the place is going for, and maybe being dressed in business suits we looked out of place; I don't know. It all just seemed odd, as has ever other interaction (there won't be any more in future!) I've had with the place. I suppose it's popular now, but between the prices and the attitude, I wonder if it won't eventually follow the several other stores in that mall that have already closed...

Our experience with B+F was similar. Asked to vacate the table after we were seated. Alloted another one but told to vacate it by 7.15 pm. No new customer came into the restaurant whilst we were there, but nevertheless they were fully booked.

We are vegetarians. They served us a non-vegetarian burger.

I like B+F. I think I've been there 5 or 6 times since they opened with different groups of family, friends, and colleagues from work. I've never gone without a reservation and the place is always absolutely packed regardless whether it's lunch or dinner. When I went last Friday for lunch the place was initially empty but the manager told me that all the tables are actually reserved, and within about 20 minutes the place was full.

The burgers are always outstanding. I recommend the Machine Gun and the Ribeye burger. I don't think I've ever ordered fries, though I've heard their chili cheese fries are good. I have had trouble with delays in getting the food a couple of times. I hate the fact that they don't serve local water, and they only have some Italian water that costs a lot but comes in small glass bottles. They are the only restaurant I know of in Oman that serves Dr. Pepper, so that's a huge plus in my book. They've been open a few months but they still don't have all the items on the menu, not even the shakes. Last time I went I saw a lot of people eating salads which are served in huge salad bowls, so next time I go I'll definitely order a salad.

I hope they maintain their standards. I hope they continue to be successful and become an inspiration for Omanis to try open local, non-franchise restaurants to compete with the big chains.

    Muscati,

All the praise you have on this rest may indicate you are either an owner or a part owner of this B+F place. Lets get something straight here, this is a burger joint, why on earth do I have to make reservation to confirm a seat. Besides, if you really look at most of the comments of customers who did not have a good experience, it relates to 4 main complaints:
    1. Unavailability of seats
    2. Attitude of the staff
    3. SMOKING (This is the most I hate about this place)
    4. Thier openning hours.

I've been to B+F many times and I've enjoyed all of my visits there so far. Negatives are the smoking policy and the over-crowding especially during weekends. But I have never had any problems with the staff. The food is great and I've yet to find a better burger in Oman.

I'm really surprised at the extremely bad experiences some on this forum have had there.
