dont know about ebay - I would be too worried about returning items to/from individual vendors.

amazon is easy. go to the website and follow the instructions.

For E-Bay you often have to PM the seller and ask whether they post to here, bearing in my the shipping won't be cheap so hopefully your item is!

Amazon is easy, just with DVD's bear in mind the 'region #' or hopefully you have a multi-region DVD player.
If it is household items (coffee machine etc) they won't ship to Oman...there are certain categories that do and don't so look into it before you buy.

Other thing to consider is setting up an Aramex mailbox in either the UK or US (one-off fee), which effectively means you can take advantage of any of the 'free shipping' situations on various websites, then you just pay for the shipping to Oman.

Ebay or Amazon sometimes dont deliver in the middle east area like Oman, so, 1) u gotta check if the supplier delivers and they are qualified vendors,2) better use Paypal than showing all your credit card numbers on the web, much safer to use Paypal.Hope this helps.

Paypal is just a tool , a safer way so you dont expose much of your credit card numbers every time you buy online. try it.

I bought lots of things off aramax: Remote control car weighing 10 kg, shoes, and stuff for friends.

Its VERY expensive tho the r/c car cost 40 rial or something for the shipping.

10KG's cost you ONLY 40?!?!? It should have been 69.5

Aramex shop n ship is not meant to be used for heavy packages. You'll obviously get burned. It is meant for smaller 1-2KG max packages. They've increased their rates recently which makes it kinda annoying, but still beats prices here.

Right now I think DHL option is the cheapest for Amazon USA. But they take a long time (8-12 days) to deliver.

But if the package is just books and CDs the savings are not very much, might as well get it from Amazon.com direct.

Well Aramex Shop and Ship is one option.

Second is eBay, some do ship to Oman.

Third is check website, some ship tp Oman too.
    What are you looking to Buy? if computer stuff take a look at this site as well;
    http://www.advantionline.com/home.php

I do have other sites, mostly for Comp stuff, rest is Amazon or eBay.

BE careful when buying from eBay or Amazon, IF the Item arrives Dead you are pretty much stuck with it. AS mostly eBay users don't ship overseas and even if they do and back it up with warranty, it will cost you a lot to send it back, and AGAIN pay for shop and Ship or Shipping directly to Oman. Same is with Amazon.

PayPal works from Oman for sending money only Neo.
You cannot receive money with PayPal with a Omani Credit Card or Bank Account (had an experience when someone wanted to Pay me and tried PayPal)

The last I knew, 1kg= 2.2 lbs, not the other way round. So 10kgs should cost higher to ship than 10 lbs !
