Wimax technology dependent on signals from base station so speed is not commited

I have wiimax, in my area I could only get the 3mb package. On torrents I get speeds up to 300k. Lag is still there, not so perfect for online gaming.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is....

Oh ya, its more than sufficient for web surfing. I do live in the "green zone" but if I remember correctly there is a dark green and a light green, don't remember which one is better but I live in the zone that is 2nd best.

    does'nt matter

junaid this medium is an alternative for where yuo are not able to use wired service . And if you still say wimax will give you 100 % satisfied speed why nawras and ISP's dont use it on their end to get connected with upstream provider ..

we subscribed to Nawras 5Mbps package as it is available here in our place at Rustaq, at first it was fast and then after 3weeks it gets slower and now I heard that they are limiting the usage to 100Mb. how sad, we have to go back to were we purchase our Nawras Wimax.

Soon they will bring out a wifi extender to boost signals, it links to your current modem. Also, the website lists a different kind of modem that looks like an upgrade from wimax.

I haven't seen it yet, but it will be a plug that goes into the wall alongside the modem

I use Nawras WiMAX under the dark green zone. I use the 5mbps connection, and it's awesome. Weather-proof.
The maximum speed I've got outta it is around 600 KB/s

100mb? No way! I use it! It's unlimited... but with fair usage policy

yep it is, coz my friend went to Nawras at Lulu Barka, and tried to complain about the slow speed of their wimax, the customer rep told them that the unlimited acces has been stopped and it is the 100Mb/month. just try to got to your nearest Nawras Store and check it out.

Maybe for new customers. Speed limits/download limits are same for existing customers/subscribers :P

That makes absolutely no sense. Either you/your friend misunderstood or the rep that mentioned this hasn't a clue what he/she is talking about. You cannot possibly have a 100mb cap on a broadband connection. That broadband connection can eat 100mb in a couple of minutes.

I clear out 400mb of temp files in 2 days. 100mb a month is impossible.
