    Default Agencies in Oman

Need an advice between Mercedes and Lexus. How is the service in their agencies by your experience? Mercedes gives you only one year of warranty. I find that risky!

Lexus. Thats a no brainer. Anything other than Mercedes actually. Ask anyone who's owned one in Oman. My family has had two unfortunately.

Mercedes service are the biggest crooks in Oman. Had 3 incidents with them (would've been more if we hadn't started servicing the cars outside). They will purposely break stuff in your car after service and when you come back a few hours later they will put it on you. A repair that will cost you 5 rials outside will cost about 1300 rials at Mercedes (No exaggeration). Both happened to us. Others will report the same stuff.

In contrast their German rivals - BMW. Amazing service. They will even drive you home in a 7 series after you give your car in lol

Thank you very much! That is very helpful. Ok Mercedes is out of the list then

I heard though that BMW breaks quickly on the road. Would you agree with that? Does anyone prefer Lexus over BMW?

If you're looking for reliability then Lexus is the best out there! Make sure you buy it NEW though. People tend to abuse their cars here. Our 12 year old lexus (bought new then) still runs like new!

The old BMW's 2000+ era had serious issues in Oman. Don't think they were made to handle the heat of the middle east. The AC's were pathetic, and ofcourse things in the engine bay broke fairly often. Can't speak for the new ones though. But, the customer service was lovely.

The problem with owning a Lexus though, is that you are instantly a terrible driver. It's a well known fact that Nissan Maxima and any kind of Lexus driver = avoid avoid avoid because they are all idiots.

Really? I've been driving for more than 6 years in Oman, and I've never come across particularly bad "Lexus" drivers. What I've found is that drivers in Oman in general suck.

Thanks! I agree with you. That is very helpful. Wished to hear on the new BMWs, but maybe no BMW fans are reading this!

I love BMW's, went over to check out the 125i, thoroughly disappointed with the staff under that roof. I don't look rich, which is probably why they kept trying to sell me a cheaper car. No matter what I asked about the 125i, I kept getting shown the 118i, it was apprently 'better', but it looks butt ugly!

I'd choose a BMW over a mercedes or fancy toyota any day.
