Dear Members

I heard your concerns, hence I removed the forum. Some members were concerned that I have taken the consent of the author, of which I kinda disagree, because its like taking an article and credit to the author. Something I clearly do by giving a link to their blog


Anyway

I still think having blogs here is a good idea. For one, it makes the forum more interesting, and also the blogger himself gets an extra exposure to his/her writing

Therefore, I am dedicating this thread to the bloggers who wishes to include their blog here. Either Send me an email (abufaisal@omanforum.com) or reply here of your blog address and I will include. I will see how many bloggers wishes to, than I will re-open the forum again

I think the issues here, at least for me, are these:

1/ You took my blog's user-name
2/ People assumed it was me posting my blog
3/ The link was tiny, and un-credited, at the end of the complete blog post
4/ I write the blog I write for fun, but like to read peoples comments on my work - on my own blog, not on some forum that didnt even ask me.

5/ - Judging from AIO's blog today, she was not too impressed with this move either.

Fine point taken, my mistake. I was under impression people write blog so that they get a wider audience, I guess I was mistaken. It was of good intention, apparently it backfired . I know I would want to have it here, but thats me

Whatever. It's my work, I deserve to be able to see comments on my own work, on my own blog. I dont have an issue with my blogs being posted here. I have issue with my blogs being commented on here.

Angry In Oman has significant issue with the fact that this boards administration have arbitrarily just taken her username, the only possible username she'd use to respond to comments on her own blog posts here.

At the end of the day, the administration of this board will do as they please, and there isn't a lot writers like myself can do about it. But it'd be bad karma.

First of all, it was a system that generate those topics, it not that I went and copy pasted their articles here. Its automatic generated RSS, of which the system takes the topic from the blog website and creates it here

The facts that RSS even exists tells me that its a normal to include other people writing provided a link back to them is given and credited. All Blogs are open to the world, its not that there is a certain password to enter there, its not like face book

Again my intention was pure, is for the blogger to have larger audience and people to make use of their thoughts.

Again lets forget about this, whats done is done, and I have removed the forum all together.

I have already got couple of request for them to be included in the forum blogs, I am waiting for more, if I get at least five bloggers than I will re-open the forum again.

Relax, everyone. I think Neo's forum is a great idea. I wish there was one place where I could find all the blogs about Oman!

I dont think in this forum, blog should be reproduced...

if i want to read blogs, i can simply google and start reading...by now, many would have put muscat confidential, dofar Gucci , AOI, etc in thier fav...from there there are so many links to oman blogs...

plus if you want to comment, it is appropriate to comment in the blog, for which the author can reply...

if people comment here, how would the author know?
